Business Introduction

I.M. entered into the camera module business based on our optical pick-up development and manufacturing capabilities, which was the main business of the company for many years, and now produces camera modules, lens modules, AF actuators and more. We gained a competitive advantage in manufacturing based on our excellent mass production technology and participated in the development of new models with the continuous cooperation of partner companies to contribute the early stabilization of mass production. Our camera modules are applied to smartphones, automobile electronics systems, biometrics, medical equipment and more.

    The camera module is the part that converts the image allowed through the lens into the digital signal, which is used for photography or video. In general, it is composed of the lens that admits the light from outside, the IR filter that penetrates the visible ray, the image sensor that changes the admitted light into the image, and PCB.

    As a part that forms the camera module, it is provided in a module type assembled with several lens having each characteristic in the main tube. In general, 4 lenses are needed to form the module of 5M, 4~5 lenses for 8M, 5 lenses for 13M and 6 lenses for 16M or more. The higher the number of pixels, the higher the number of lenses and the more difficult the lens module is to produce.
